Analysis on Several Schemes of Serial WiFi Module Controlling Intelligent Home Appliances

Today we will analyze how the Wifi module intelligent control is implemented. We can divide it into control distances, LAN control and WAN control.

First introduce the LAN control

The first method: The wifi module works in the AP mode, and the intelligent terminal (mobile phone, tablet) directly accesses the network provided by the wifi module, and implements wireless control in the same hotspot network. (Figure 1 on the left)

However, since the wifi module works in the AP mode, which is the hotspot mode, the smart device terminal that it accesses is limited. Our wifi module provides six other intelligent control terminals (such as mobile phone tablets). (Figure 1 right)

The second method: The wifi module works in the sta mode, the intelligent terminal and the wifi module work in the wireless network environment provided by the wireless router, and the data signal is forwarded through the wireless router, thereby realizing the wireless control of the local area network. (Figure 2)

The third method: using our wifi STA mode as the central controller, wifi controller and other device terminals wireless communication can use 433 technology, 315 technology, 2.4G technology to form a LAN with wifi controller. (Figure 3)

Tip: 433 wireless technology is a wireless one-way technology, the advantages, the transmission distance is relatively far; Wifi controller and 433 switch between the 433 technology communication. The wifi module at this time is in STA mode.

Tip: 2.4G technology is a two-wire wireless technology, but the transmission distance is relatively short; 2.4G technology communication is used between the Wifi controller and the 2.4G switch, and the wifi module is in STA mode.

The following describes the WAN control

Method 1: Simple wifi technology, using a wireless router as a central control center. At this time, the wifi module works in STA mode. The MAC address of the wifi module is bound to the service, and the data of the wifi module is sent through the router. A network is formed with 2G, 3G, 4G or other wifi networks of mobile phones to achieve control. (Figure 5)

Method 2: wifi technology combined with other technologies, such as wifi and 2.4G or wifi and 433 technologies. At this time, the wifi module works in the STA mode, and the 2G, 3G, 4G or other wifi networks of the mobile phone form a network, thereby achieving control. (Figure 6 - for wifi and 433 technology combined)
