Friends of the General Assembly of the United States has launched STM (Spyith Semiconductor) based on its new ST25DV NFC solution for the latest development of smart meters.
The solution leverages STM's dual-interface EEPROM family to bridge the gap between electronic device operations and RFID systems. This feature will facilitate the introduction of new products, including asset tracking, data collection, automated diagnostics or tracking functions such as smart metering. The main microcontroller in the device, IoT device, professional or consumer product, etc. performs contactless communication. This will take full advantage of ST's ST25DV features, making it easy and convenient to update parameters and local settings without opening the package. In addition, RFID systems that require more monitoring functions, such as cold chain logistics, can also be used with the ST25DV.

The new ST25DV gives users the flexibility to wirelessly set or update electronic product parameters at any point in the supply chain and at any time during the product cycle. Device manufacturers can update product parameters, set software codes or launch software without having to connect programming.
STM's ST25DV is a built-in standard I2C interface EEPROM memory that communicates with most microcontrollers or ASICs. ST25DV provides an RF (Radio Frequency) that supports NFC Type 5 and ISO 15693 RFID standards. Interface for wireless communication with RFID readers. In RF mode, reading and writing ST25DV does not require a power supply, saving on-board power. Product features include NFC NDEF information native support and ISO 15693 long-range RF interface, as well as a fast transfer mode of 256-bit large-capacity cache. It also has 64Kbits of EEPROM with the highest storage capacity on the market and multiple 64-bit passwords with stronger data protection capabilities. Electronic product parameters can be accessed from the remote side easily and conveniently.
