V2X is a kind of car information exchange technology, which is translated as Vehicle to X. It can be understood as car-to-vehicle, car-to-environmental awareness, vehicle-to-base station, and information communication between base stations and base stations. In 2014, Delphi launched the first new V2V communication module for GM Cadillac. The communication platform is based on Cohda's application software and NXP's wireless chip, which supports IEEE 802.11. p, the standard is a wireless communication standard for the automotive industry that is considered to be focused on short-range communications (DSRC).
Currently, NXP independently develops the V2X/V2I ecosystem for Cohda and exclusively licenses Cohda 802.11p technology. It is reported that the DSRC module introduced by NXP is designed by Cohda and NXP, including NXP's wireless and baseband chips, Cohda firmware, and GPS/Glonass capabilities. When the DSRC module is installed in the car, it will also require an MCU to run V2V and V2I applications. There is no requirement for the MCU. Any MCU that can achieve 400 Dhrystone MIPS capability can do the job.
