LG to Demonstrate 84-inch 4K Resolution TV at CES 2012

LG to Demonstrate 84-inch 4K Resolution TV at CES 2012 December 30 news, according to technology website Engadget reported that LG had planned to display 4K resolution LCD TV at CES 2011, unfortunately they did not honor this promise. However, at CES 2012, LG clearly did not want to renege on it again.

LG has announced that it will bring an 84-inch “Super Resolution” (3840x2160) LCD TV to Las Vegas along with its 55-inch OLED TV and show it to the world at CES. The TV has built-in LG's own 3D cinema features and smart TV capabilities, as well as support for upgraded Magic Motion remote and voice control.

At present, home 4K display devices are mainly high-priced projectors of Sony and JVC. LG is involved in this area mainly for its own 3D technology. LG said that its 3D cinema technology uses the Film Pattern Retarder (FPR) screen and passive glasses, which reduces the resolution, and additional pixels will undoubtedly affect the presentation of high-definition screens.

At present, LG has not provided this TV's time to market and price information.
