The LT3840 acts as a step-down synchronous high-voltage switching regulator controller that operates from a 2.5-60V supply. The LT3840 uses a constant frequency, current mode architecture that enables high current applications with large N-channel gate drivers that drive multiple low RDS(ON) MOSFETs.
When configured for user-selectable burst mode operation, the LT3840's low quiescent current can help extend the run time in battery-powered systems by increasing efficiency at light loads.
