Entry-level Tilt Brush, Painter Applying PaintVR to Daydream Platform

Paint VR from Coskami Games hopes to bring the 3D painting experience to Daydream. You may already know Google's powerful 3D painting program Tilt Brush, but the tool is designed to support more powerful head displays such as Vive, and Paint VR is the first application for entry-level VR systems.

Description: This application is designed to be accessible to everyone. An artist may have different opinions on some of the functions of the application (we talk about this later), but this article is only from an outsider's perspective.

PaintVR's user interface is very simple. The standard color wheel and fairly basic brush choices are not daunting. The combination of drawing mode and line mode gives you more options. Different brushes (such as grass brushes) can help you create more complex artwork.

The application feels like a "painting" in the era of Windows 98. It is very simple and almost like a demo rather than a complete application. I hope this tool can provide a complete save function, because now there seems to be no way to save images other than screenshots, and screenshots are obviously not the best way to show your "great works."

Controlling your movements in PaintVR is cumbersome. Relying on Daydream controllers is very limited because you only have one hand to use. There is no problem moving through the Daydream controller's touchpad on the Y-axis, but there is a problem with acceleration, so you can hardly achieve fine movements. Do not expect to connect lines in PaintVR because the application is not accurate enough to support such operations. Left/right X-axis translations are smoother, and rotating systems are the smoothest operations in the application. If you want to rotate, you simply press and hold the touchpad to pan, then turn the head to twist the object you created.

It is hoped that the above operations will become better and more accurate over time so that users can also benefit from it.

There are two major problems with painting with a brush in PaintVR. The first is the brush itself. An oversized pen cannot align with the Daydream controller at all in angle and size. This means that it is difficult for you to find where the brush should appear. I prefer to think of it as a Daydream controller and a light pointer that usually represents a selection point, as this will definitely help you pinpoint where the brush should appear.

Another problem is that you need to press and hold the touch button to paint. The use of the touchpad to move and hold down the touchpad for drawing has very high accuracy requirements, and I simply can't let the brush act as it should. Moving on the Y-axis is particularly difficult, as the hand can easily become uncontrollable while holding down the front of the touchpad, making the lines too long. But if you try to move slowly, the lines will become uneven. I don't know what the real solution is, maybe a side button? Or redesign the controller and add a trigger key? Whatever the developer's final decision is, I hope they can be implemented as soon as possible.

I don't want everyone to think I'm completely disappointed with PaintVR because I don't have it at all. I just simply think that version 1.0 is not yet mature. The controller is very heavy and the brush selection is very thin. But as a first attempt, this brought us some hope. Although not as large as it may seem, the painting plane is spacious enough, and if you are an artist, you believe that the choice of brush should be enough for you to start creating. I have seen some artists create amazing works with the least amount of material, so I think that some people can definitely create better art than me through this application.

For the most pressing question at the moment: Does the $4.99 PaintVR deserve to bring 3D painting to your Daydream, as well as the potential general public? Unfortunately, I think it can't, at least temporarily. The interface is too basic and the console is cumbersome and cannot be used to create truly amazing works. After all, we all want to create amazing works.

Steel Cord For Conveyor Belts

Steel Cord For Conveyor Belts

Steel cord conveyor belts are highly wear-resistant and used principally for long-haul conveying, heavy loads and physically demanding applications. They are especially suitable for high-mass or high-volume flows and for abrasive materials.

Steel cord Conveyor Belt Construction
The steel cord belt provides superior impact resistance, with the number and size being selected to meet the desired operating tension and application needs. The insulation gum is specifically designed to encapsulate each steel cord filament to reduce internal friction while providing enhanced adhesion to the cover rubbers. Top and bottom covers provide maximum protection to the steel cord. The cover compounds are specifically designed to meet the demands of the application and are available in a wide variety of rubber types and gauges.
