On September 12, Reuters quoted Nikkan Kogyo as saying that Toshiba decided to sell the chip business to Western Digital’s leading consortium at a price of 2 trillion yen (about 18.29 billion US dollars).
The report said that Toshiba intends to make a final decision on September 13 and officially announce the news on September 20. According to news sources quoted by Reuters, Toshiba was discussing the sale on the evening of the 11th. Reuters has not yet confirmed the latest progress.
