Summary:
This article demonstrates that the analog-to-digital converter can be powered directly from a switching power supply without careful performance degradation, while carefully following design practice techniques. Compared to the ADP1708 linear power supply, the performance of the converter did not decrease when powered by the ADP2114 switching power supply. The use of switching power supplies can increase power efficiency by 30% to 40% and significantly reduce total power consumption (even more than simply selecting a lower power converter). In many systems, these devices require continuous operation, so switching power supplies can significantly reduce operating costs without sacrificing performance.
