Texas Instruments pushes the highest integrated single chip

Texas Instruments (TI) has announced the launch of the CC2538 System-on-Chip (SoC) to simplify the development of smart energy infrastructure, home building automation, and intelligent lighting gateways that support ZigBee® wireless connectivity. The industry's most highly integrated ZigBee solution, the CC2538, integrates ARM® CortexTM-M3 MCUs, memory, and hardware accelerators on a single silicon chip and is extremely cost-effective. The CC2538 supports ZigBeePRO, ZigBee Smart Energy and ZigBee Home Automation, and lighting standards that enable interoperability with existing and future ZigBee products. In addition, the SoC also supports IP standardization development using IEEE 802.15.4 and 6LoWPAN IPv6 networks for maximum flexibility.
