Ivy Bridge notebook released at the end of April

Recently, the release plan of Intel Ivy Bridge processor can be described as a few days change: According to reports from Taiwan’s “Electronic Times”, news from notebook manufacturers said that Intel is expected to release the Ivy Bridge processor including notebook products at the end of April. Large-scale first-line plants have already started operations to prepare for goods from Intel.

Earlier news that Ivy Bridge's mass shipments may be delayed by as much as eight weeks, but Intel last week responded that the company will still produce products as planned, the release will only be postponed less than a month.

However, "Electronic Times" sources pointed out that Intel has adjusted the production capacity of the Ivy Bridge processor, and more emphasis on the Ultrabook part. For the traditional desktop and notebook business, Intel will initially supply high-end processors.

As manufacturers battle for orders for Ultrabook's Ivy Bridge processor, some brands are expected to officially release their second-generation Ultrabook products in May, and the price will fall to the range of 799-899 dollars.

Sources believe that Ultrabook will account for about 15-20% of the total consumer-grade notebook shipments by the end of 2012, and will rise to 40% in 2013 and occupy half of the end of 2013.
