On March 12, 2007, the Thai Industrial Standards Institute published the draft standard for TIS 2334-2549 (2006) on the energy efficiency requirements for single-cap fluorescent lamps. This standard is a mandatory standard that specifies the minimum energy efficiency requirements for single-cap tubular fluorescent lamps and covers bulbs for general lighting applications.
This standard does not apply to: (1) a bulb with a primary color or a bulb with a primary output energy other than visible light; (2) a color-matched lamp with a color rendering index of more than 90 and a bulb with a color appearance close to the point on the black-body curve; 3) Light bulbs for industrial or agricultural special purposes; (4) Light bulbs for medical installations; (5) Light bulbs declared for special use and not for general lighting purposes, and which are clearly distinguishable from general lighting bulbs.
