Shandong Jining announced the equipment subsidy policy for new energy and new light sources. This year, it will implement financial subsidies for solar roof power generation, photovoltaic and LED lighting integration, LED lighting, and new energy vehicles. The subsidy amount is about RMB 40 million. UMC will benefit indirectly.
This subsidy policy is mainly for solar roof power generation, with a one-time subsidy of RMB 10 per watt. The total subsidy for this year is 1000 KW, and the subsidy fund is about RMB 10 million. The photovoltaic and LED lighting integration demonstration project, one-time subsidy per kW 20 yuan, the total scale of subsidies this year is 500KW, and the subsidy fund is about 10 million yuan.
Equipment manufacturers pointed out that UMC is welcoming green energy business opportunities. LED and solar energy production capacity will be opened in the second half of the year to quickly become the largest solar and LED base in mainland China within five years, and compete with rival TSMC.
Yongsheng Energy, a subsidiary of UMC, has also expanded its capital by US$2 million and has set up a new solar energy electromechanical integration plant, Huasheng Energy.
