Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL), a leading provider of RF power technology, today announced the introduction of the RF Power Tool system. The system is designed to simplify the development of RF power applications and help customers create unique new RF power solutions. Freescale's RF Power Tool System is the only fully integrated RF power application development system on the market that integrates multiple RF bench tool functions into a single box, eliminating the need for a full bench of RF evaluation equipment, thereby minimizing size, Reduce costs and the complexity of RF labs, which is what application development needs.
The new Freescale RF Power Tool System includes key components needed to design innovative RF power applications in portable modular units and is fully compatible with a range of Freescale RF power evaluation boards and reference designs to simplify design and reduce development Cost and speed up product launch. The system runs directly from a PC or panel and can be started in minutes, at a much lower cost than traditional RF bench installations.
Paul Hart, senior vice president and general manager of the RF division at Freescale, said: "Freescale's new RF power tool system integrates multiple evaluation tools commonly used in RF benches. This is a unique approach, no matter how experienced. Designers and less experienced designers can develop advanced RF applications more easily and quickly. This is the industry's first product, demonstrating Freescale's deep understanding of customer needs: in a competitive, rapidly evolving Stand out in the market and succeed."
Freescale's RF Power Tool System allows users to define RF conditions for their applications, providing easy system verification and real-time performance monitoring, data logging for evaluation applications, which helps developers reduce design, development, evaluation and update of their RF power Time required for applications such as heating, mobile radio communications, ISM and broadcast products.
The tool provides temperature sensing, voltage sensing and power sensing. The integrated KineTIs microcontrollers are compatible with Freescale RF evaluation boards from 5W to 1.25 kW from 10 MHz to 2.5 GHz, leveraging Freescale's leadership in control solutions to enable customers to enjoy Freescale Carl RF power expertise and extensive experience.
