The 74th IEC Annual Meeting was held in West Asia, USA. The National Lighting Standardization Technical Committee Lighting Subcommittee and Shanghai Times Light Lighting Electrical Testing Co., Ltd. attended the meeting on behalf of China. During the meeting, our representatives discussed the standards of lamps, lamp holders and ballasts with international experts, and proposed standard revisions on related issues. Based on the rapid development of LED lighting electrical products, LED modules and LED lighting standards have become the main theme of the conference.
The LED lamp performance standard gives the concept of LED lamp classification. It is proposed that LED lamps can be classified according to Class A, Class B and Class C, namely Class A-integrated LED lamps, Class B lamps with built-in LED modules and C Classes - luminaires with LED lights and self-ballasted or separate controls, while the luminaire performance standards also specify lumen maintenance and failure rate requirements and identification methods for LED luminaire series.
LED module performance requirements require power-on temperature cycling, supply voltage switching, and accelerated operational life testing.
