Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has developed a single-converter LED lighting power supply module "IP converter" that integrates a power factor correction circuit and a flyback converter, and displayed the product at "TECHNO FRONTIER 2010".
The input voltage of this product is AC100～240V, the rated output power is 60W, the output voltage is 28V, and the output current is 2.2A. The efficiency is 85.2% and the power factor is 0.997. The external dimensions are 230mm × 50mm × 30mm.
Compared to individually packaged PFC circuits and insulated converters, the new products reduce size, cost, and reliability.
In order to accurately calculate the driving power of the LED, the control microcontroller is disposed on the secondary side of the power supply. The dimming input based on the PWM signal is also received by the controller. The switching element is driven by a custom control IC disposed on the primary side.
New products are currently using analog control, and digital control versions using microcontrollers are also being developed.
