Pixvana, the company behind the Spin Play platform, announced the launch of a new "overlay" virtual reality (VR) video playback technology to improve visual quality.
The new version, which can now be used on the updated SPIN Play platform, provides high-quality 60fps video with Oculus synthesizer, which can achieve 360-degree presentation without blind spots. This technology bypasses the typical rendering path and sends pixels directly to the display, effectively ray tracing through the lens.
This means that creators and producers can now upload their own content to SPIN Studio and transfer it to Oculus Go with the highest possible quality.
Mike Swanson, senior architect of Pixvana, said in a statement: "For many years we have been committed to improving playback quality to help promote the development of the industry and VR. Finally, viewers can now stream or download it to Oculus Go, Watch the sharpest and highest quality content immersively."

In the near future, Pixvana will also provide stereo video playback technology in Oculus devices.
Last month, Pixvana announced a partnership with camera rental agency Radiant Images. So whenever a company hires camera equipment, it will be able to use the SPIN platform for free.
