On September 27th, Strategy Analytics, an information technology, communications industry and consumer technology market research organization, today released a report on the "Smart Speaker User Survey-Global Results". The report pointed out that smart speakers such as Amazon Echo and Google Home have had a great impact on the lives of their users.
Strategy AnalyTIcs conducted online surveys in the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom in July and August 2018, and a total of 4013 smart speaker users participated. According to the data provided by Strategy AnalyTIcs, 49% of users said that they can no longer imagine life without smart speakers, 65% believe that smart speakers have greatly improved their lifestyles, and 70% of users think smart speakers are better than they expected More useful.
The survey shows that more than half of smart speaker users have more than one device in their home. 82% of households with smart speakers use at least one Amazon device, and 29% of households use Google products. JBL (7%) and Apple (6%) are close behind. Users like to place smart speakers in the living room and family room (64%), followed by the bedroom (33%) and the kitchen (29%). 91% use smart speakers to listen to music or radio; 73% of users get weather information; 67% of users listen to news.
There is definitely a good side and a bad side. 63% of people believe that voice-controlled devices may record voices and conversations without permission. But 25% of non-smart speaker users said they would buy such devices within the next year. The Strategy AnalyTIcs research report pointed out that the global demand for smart speakers will reach 71.6 million units in 2018, with an annual growth rate of 115%.
