Taiwan develops LED lighting standards

In order to improve product quality and protect the rights and interests of the people, the Taiwan Bureau of Standards Inspection and Quarantine formulates CNS 15467-1 "Light Source Control Device - Part 1: General and Safety Regulations" in accordance with the IEC International Standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission. CNS15467-2-13 " Light Source Control Unit - Part 2-13: Individual Requirements for DC or AC Electronic Control Units for LED Modules, CNS15592 "Photobiosafety of Light Sources and Light Source Systems", CNS 15603-1 "Luminaire Performance - Part 1: General "Sexual Requirements", CNS 15603-2-1 "Luminaire Performance - Part 2-1: Individual Requirements for LED Luminaires" and CNS 15602 "General Luminaire LED Modules - Performance Requirements", six national standards, on November 15, 2012 Announced.

Of the six standards developed this time, three are related to product safety, and three are related to product performance. In terms of safety, CNS15467-1 and CNS15467-2-13 are safety inspection standards for control devices for LED modules, and provide test basis for insulation, grounding, protection against electric shock, heat-resistant and flame-resistant safety-related items; CNS15592 is The light bio-safety evaluation standards for LED light sources and lamps provide the basis for detection and evaluation of the degree of damage that infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), and blue light may cause to human eyes and skin. In terms of performance, CNS15602 is a performance evaluation standard for LED modules, and CNS15603-1 and CNS15603-2-1 are performance evaluation standards for LED lamps, and they aim at luminous flux, luminous efficiency, light distribution, color, and color rendering of LED modules and lamps. The performance-related items such as sex, beam maintenance rate, and life expectancy provide the basis for measurement and evaluation.

According to the Taiwan Bureau of Standards and Inspections, 32 kinds of LED lighting related standards have been established, including 3 kinds of control devices, 12 kinds of lighting-related products, and 17 kinds of lighting components and modules, covering the applications of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the LED industry chain. The six standards formulated this time are all harmonized with IEC international standards, and can be used as the basis for the design, manufacture, and testing of LED lighting-related products. They will play an important role in leading the industry in line with international standards, and contribute to the quality and safety of LED lighting products reaching international standards. Improve the international competitiveness of the industry.
